CEHD students climb a mountain and more in Learning Abroad trip to Kenya

Connie MagnusonDr. Connie Magnuson, School of Kinesiology lecturer, led a group of 13 CEHD students on a U of M Learning Abroad course to Kenya in May. While climbing Mt. Kenya (the second highest mountain on the continent), students, faculty, and expert guides presented lessons on topics such as the impact of global climate change, wildlife preservation, political involvement in wilderness management, wilderness and minority cultures and more. The students stayed for a few days in the village of Kambi, living with families in the village and preparing a newly built classroom for 6th grade students at Kambi Primary School.
