Furco delivered keynote address at international colloquium focused on social mission of universities in the Americas

FurcoA-prefDr. Andrew Furco delivered a keynote address, Building the Engaged University: Toward a Comprehensive Approach to Social Responsibility in Higher Education, at an international colloquium sponsored by the Institut d’Etudes Internationales de Montreal at the Université de Quebec a Montreal. The theme of the colloquium was the internationalization of the social mission of universities in the Americas. The event featured presidents and other academic leaders from more than 40 universities across North, Central, and South America who engaged in dialogue and conversations about ways to enhance higher education’s commitment to advancing the public good and addressing the world’s most challenging societal issues.

Dr. Furco is an associate professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) and serves as the associate vice president for public engagement in the University of Minnesota’s Office for Public Engagement.
