In Memoriam: Nicki R. Crick

It is with great sadness that we mourn the loss of Nicki Crick, who passed peacefully away after a courageous battle with cancer on October 28, 2012, at the age of 54. Nicki, a professor in the Institute of Child Development, was a renowned expert on relational aggression and peer relationships, and had served as director of the Institute from 2005-2011. Her life touched many people, and while she will be missed greatly, she will always remain in our hearts.
See tributes to Nicki’s legacy in the Star Tribune, Minnesota Daily, and University faculty and staff website.
A University-wide memorial service is set for Saturday, Dec. 1, 10 a.m., McNamara Alumni Center Memorial Hall. It will be a celebration of Nicki’s life. A smaller memorial service for family and friends will be held Saturday, Nov. 3, at the Wulff Funeral Home at 2195 Woodlane Dr., Woodbury, MN, 1-3:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Nicki chose a Siberian Husky rescue-organization here in the area; please direct any contributions in Nicki’s name to the Minnesota chapter of Adopt-A-Husky (www.AdoptAHusky.com).
