Kick off Year Three of Co-teaching Professional Development with Partner Districts

New this year! Thanks to the generosity of our school partners and co-teaching pairs last year, we were able to collect footage from most partner districts of co-teaching in a variety of classrooms last Spring– from 2nd graders at St. Anthony Park to a newcomers class at Wellstone.
Once editing is completed, we’ll be adding video of University of Minnesota teacher candidates and cooperating teachers in the Partner Network schools to our enhance the online modules.
Workshops held so far in 2013-14:

  • Co-Teaching strategies to maximize student achievement (related to SOEI elements 1Aiii, 1Cii, 3Bi, 4Bii) workshop for 10 teachers at Minneapolis Public Schools district headquarters, August 14, 2013.
  • Seventy-five University of Minnesota Elementary Education teacher candidates participated in the Co-Teaching Foundations training, August 19, 2013.
  • Co-Teaching Foundations and Pairs training offered in St. Paul School District for all cooperating teachers and teacher candidates August 20, 2013. (St. Paul Public Schools requires all cooperating teachers and teacher candidates in a student teaching placement to complete the foundations and pair co-teaching training).
  • Forty Dowling Urban Environmental Elementary school staff participated in Co-Teaching Foundations and Pairs Training on August 23, 2013.
  • Fifty University student teacher supervisors participated in the Supervising Co-Teaching with cooperating teachers and teacher candidates’ workshop session, August 30, 2013.
  • Thirteen pairs of teacher candidate and cooperating teacher from Andersen United, Barton Open, Lucy Laney, Marcy Open and Pillsbury Community in Minneapolis Public School District participated in Co-Teaching Pairs training, September 4, 2013 at Roosevelt high school.
