School of Social Work Assistant Professor Colleen Fisher received a 2011 Council of Graduate Students Outstanding Faculty Award this spring. The award was created by graduate students to recognize faculty members for their exceptional contributions to graduate education. The nominating letter cited Fisher’s ability to bring “to every student and to every class a special combination of drive, passion, and humor, and the willingness to make that special personal commitment to help each student succeed.” The nominators also noted her “deeply held commitment to student success both in school and beyond” and called her “the very best of the best.”
