Frances Vavrus, professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD), was the keynote speaker at the Tanzanian Education Beyond 2014 symposium at Michigan State University on September 24, 2015. Her presentation was entitled “The Cultural Politics of Policy: The 2014 Tanzania Education and Training Policy as Cultural Text” and was also presented as part of Michigan State’s African Studies Center Eye on Africa program. In addition to this talk, Vavrus presented a paper on the use of critical discourse analysis in the study of policy in the MSU Education Policy Proseminar.
