FSOS professor receives Jump Start project award

Professor Timothy Piehler

Timothy Piehler, assistant professor in the Department of Family Social Science and the Institute of Translational Research in Children’s Mental Health (ITR), has been awarded a CEHD Research Acceleration Program award for his project, “The Development of A New Intervention for Adolescents with Co-occurring Substance Use Disorders and Mental Illness.”

Open to all CEHD faculty and P&A researchers, the program gives out awards in two project classes: Developmental and Jump Start.

Piehler’s collaborators include Mimi Choy-Brown (School of Social Work (SSW) and ITR), Ann Becher-Ingwalson (Natalis Counseling and Psychology Solutions), Julie Rohovit (SSW/Center for Practice Transformation), Ken Winters (Oregon Research Institute), and Nicole Morrell (ITR).

Piehler was honored last June with the Rising Star Faculty Award at CEHD’s 2019 Women’s Philanthropic Leadership Circle Awards, and in 2018 was the recipient of the CEHD New Career Excellence Award.
