Greising and colleagues publish in the Journal of Neurophysiology

Sarah Greising, PhD

Sarah M. Greising, PhD, associate professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Skeletal Muscle Plasticity and Regeneration Laboratory (SMPRL), contributed to a manuscript published in the Journal of Neurophysiology entitled, “Electrophysiological Effects of BDNF and TrkB Signaling at Type-Identified Diaphragm Neuromuscular Junctions.” The collaborative work is co-authored by colleagues at the Mayo Clinic — Carlos Mantilla, MD, PhD, Leonid Ermilov, PhD, Heather Gransee, PhD, Wen-Zhi Zhan, MD, and Gary Sieck PhD. This work provides evidence that signaling of brain derived neurotrophic factor rapidly regulates the size of synaptic vesicle pools and neuromuscular function in adult skeletal muscle.
