QME PhD student receives Ed Stats SIG Best Grad Student Paper award at AERA

Corissa Rohloff, PhD student in the quantitative methods of education (QME) program in the Department of Educational Psychology, has been awarded the American Educational Research Association (AERA) Educational Statisticians Special Interest Group (SIG) Best Graduate Student Paper Award for her paper, “The Impact of Functional Form Complexity on Model Overfitting for Nonlinear Mixed-Effects Models.”

Rohloff’s paper was developed in collaboration with her PhD advisor Dr. Nidhi Kohli and former QME faculty Dr. Seungwon Chung. It was selected for the quality of the research and the usefulness of the paper to the field of educational statistics and research.

Rohloff received her award at the Educational Statisticians SIG meeting during AERA on April 24.
