Christiana Raymond-Pope, PhD, researcher in the Skeletal Muscle Plasticity and Regeneration Laboratory (SMPRL), led by Sarah Greising, PhD, associate professor in the School of Kinesiology, Dr. Raymond- Pope and Dr. Greising both attended and presented research at the Military Health System Research Symposium held in Orlando FL, September 11-15.

Dr. Raymond-Pope presented a poster entitled, “Delivery of Growth Factor Encoding mRNA on a Bioengineered Aligned Scaffold to Improve Muscle Function following Traumatic Muscle Injury across Two Animal Models.” This work, done in collaboration with the Fibralign Corporation, evaluated the impact of a novel regenerative medicine treatment for traumatic injury. The study is co-authored by SMPRL lab members, Dan Hoffman, MS, and Jake Sorensen, PhD, and collaborators Tatiana Zaitseva, PhD, Eduard Yakubov, PhD, Michael Paukshto, PhD, as well as Benjamin Corona, PhD, and Sarah Greising, PhD.

Dr. Greising presented a poster: “Don’t Forget About the Nerve: Understanding and Treating Secondary Denervation after Volumetric Muscle Loss Injury”, co-authored by Dan Hoffman, MS, Jake Sorensen, PhD and Benjamin Corona, PhD.
