On July 1 Dr. Julie Furst-Bowe became chancellor of Southern Illinois University-Edwardsville (SIUE). SIUE is a growing metropolitan university of 14,400 students located 20 miles from St. Louis. Prior to accepting this appointment, Furst-Bowe was the Provost and Vice Chancellor for Academic and Student Affairs at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.
Furst-Bowe received an Ed.D. in vocational education in 1995 from the Department of Work, Community, and Family Education (now the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development).
