New research partnership on atmospheric impacts

A team of researchers at the STEM Education Center is working on a new partnership with Dr. Dylan Millet, an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota in Atmospheric Chemistry, as part of his newly awarded NSF CAREER project. The project is focused on understanding seasonal sources of organic acids and their atmospheric impacts.
One of the project aims is to carry out educational outreach in local elementary schools to enhance community learning in air pollution and earth science, and help establish the University of Minnesota (UMN) as a hub for this type of knowledge within its local community. To reach this goal, the project team is partnering with St. Paul Public Schools to work with both teachers and students as part of educational outreach. The community outreach will start with a partnership with James Schrankler, the science specialist at St. Anthony Park Elementary.
