OLPD graduate student featured in MPR News article on her work protecting public health

Michelle Larson was recently featured in a Minnesota Public Radio News article in relation to her work on protecting public health in the state’s new office of medical cannabis as their program director. Larson is a Ph.D. student in the evaluation studies program track in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD).

It’s Larson’s job to regulate a pot industry that aids the sick — and no one else. She and a staff of about 10 people will oversee two medical marijuana manufacturers picked by a state panel. They’ll also run the state registry, the list of people approved by doctors to buy the drug. It’s never been done in Minnesota before.
