Karen Seashore, Regents Professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development, was interviewed about her current research on school leadership in the article “In Schools, Change Starts at the Top” published in the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
“Principals have a very strong effect on student learning,” says Seashore, “but it’s primarily indirect and it’s primarily because of the way their behaviors encourage teachers to work together on improving their professional practice.”
