Dr. Robert Shumer, lecturer in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD) and School of Social Work (SSW), received recognition in October from the National Society for Experiential Education (NSEE)  as a Distinguished Scholar because of his leadership in NSEE and his recognized scholarship in the field of experiential education.

Dr. Shumer also presented at the International Association for Research on Service Learning and Community Engagement conference in October in New Orleans on “Confucius, Children, and Community” with colleagues from China Youth University and Beijing Normal University.
