CEHD students Sydnney Skogstad, Olivia Johnson, and Max Jech competed in The Great Northwoods Sales Warm-Up, a 2½ day national collegiate sales competition that showcases the talents of 60+ marketing and sales students from across the United States, hosted by the University of Wisconsin Eau Claire. Max Jech, a student in OLPD’s Business Marketing Education program, finished 6th overall, outperforming nearly 65 other student competitors from 22 universities across the country.
The sales competition is open to undergraduate business students who are currently enrolled as full-time students. Students must be currently enrolled in or have completed at least one college-level professional selling course. Student groups must be accompanied by a faculty adviser. The Sales Warm-Up connects college students with corporate recruiters who share their passion for sales as a profession. It also provides a venue where faculty can network and exchange best practices with one another.
The students, part of the Gopher Sales Team in OLPD’s Center for Sales Leadership + Education, were led by Todd Williams, CSLE Executive Director and OLPD Lecturer creates opportunities for University of Minnesota students to further their sales education, develop pracatical skills, provide applied business experience, and create sales leaders through education, partnerships, and research. In addition, CSLE advances the sales profession through academic education, valued outreach activities, and impactful research.
