Dr. David Chapman represented the University of Minnesota (UMN) in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the International Islamic University of Malaysia (Graduate School of Management) in Kuala Lumpur. The MOU signing was attended by the Rector, Deans from five Faculties, two representatives from the U.S. Embassy, and a number of additional guests. While specific activities will be identified on an ongoing, rolling basis, illustrative activities that might be undertaken under this MOU include offering online UMN courses through the Graduate School of Management (GSM) in Malaysia, offering GSM courses to students at UMN, creating student and faculty exchange opportunities, and placing graduate students from the University of Minnesota in Malaysia for internship programs.

Dr. Chapman is a professor in the Department of Organizational Leadership, Policy, and Development (OLPD). He is in Malaysia on a Fulbright Fellowship for Spring semester during which time he is affiliated with the Malaysia National Higher Education Research Institute in Penang.
