Stacey Horn, Department Head of FSOS, announced that Soukeyna Keita has joined FSOS as Administrative Director. In this role, she will collaborate with the department head to determine and execute priorities, direct projects, lead administrative staff and foster a professional diverse and equitable working environment within the department for people from all backgrounds, communities, and identities, as well as serve as the Department’s administrative liaison to collegiate and central personnel.
Keita was most recently the Finance and Administrative Manager for the US Agency for International Development in Senegal where she was responsible for financial management, setting up field offices, and logistical support for evaluation and research teams in three west African countries. She also served as project manager for Merrill Brink International, one of the world’s largest translation service providers; and administrative/financial manager for Hennepin Elementary School and Ubah Medical Academy where she was responsible for budgets, student data reporting to the state, and managing a food nutrition program.
A native of Senegal, Keita immigrated to the United States with her family in 1999 when her mother received a full scholarship from the U of M to pursue her graduate studies. Keita holds a Bachelor of Arts in International Relations and Political Science from the University of Wisconsin, River Falls.
