FSOS welcomes new undergraduate advisor

Stacey Horn, FSOS Department Head, today announced that Brandon Evilla will be joining the Department of Family Social Science as Senior Academic Advisor for the undergraduate program.  Brandon has eight years working in higher education, most recently serving as residence hall director at the University of Illinois-Urbana Champaign, where he led academic initiatives, social programming, and holistic personal development strategies for undergraduate students.

He brings a wealth of experience in working with diverse undergraduate students at a large land grant institution including supervision and development of student employees, mental health and crisis management, assessment and policy review, and teaching classes in a First Year Experience program. He also served as staff advisor to several student organizations at Illinois, including the Black Student Union, LBGTQ Student Advocacy Group, and Asian-American Student Housing Organization.    

Brandon has a bachelor of arts degree in communication studies from Western Kentucky University and an master’s in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University. He will start in FSOS, Monday, March 29.
