Maria Kroupina, Institute of Child Development Ph.D. and currently clinical research coordinator for the International Adoption Clinic in pediatrics at the U, was selected to participate in the prestigious Leaders for the 21st Century Fellowship Program of Zero to Three: National Center for Infants, Toddlers, and Families. During the two-year fellowship, Kroupina will work to design a mental health program for adopted infants and toddlers, taking advantage of the multidisciplinary clinic theme already in place. Kroupina’s aim is to put in place additional mechanisms for early identification of high-risk children at the time of their initial medical evaluation and to pilot a research-based intervention program in a clinical setting.
