Spotlighting ICD’s Fall 2021 Teaching Assistants

ICD would like to congratulate and thank our Fall 2021 undergraduate teaching assistants. Testimonials have been provided by each TA’s instructor for the semester. Read about the outstanding work Salahudeen Mirza, Shelby Hornberg, and Morgan Lovy completed during their time as an ICD TA. To our TA’s, thank you for your work and dedication to ICD and its students!

Salahudeen Mirza

Testimonial from Sarah Lukowski,

“CPSY 4329: Biological Foundations of Development can be especially challenging for students that come to the classroom thinking they are “not a science person”. TA Salah Mirza was instrumental in student success through taking class notes, modeling curiosity, and sharing his own research expertise. Even students that thought they didn’t like science left the course with a positive impression of the interplay of biology and development and it’s undoubtable that Salah’s contributions were a part of that.”

Shelby Hornberg

Testimonial from Henriette Warren,

“Shelby Hornberg was an exceptional undergrad TA for CPSY 3401: Children, Youth, and Media.  This was a brand new class in Fall 2021, and Shelby’s support was invaluable. She was reliable, conscientious, highly efficient, and she readily embraced all duties delegated to her. Her exemplary work is especially commendable given that she did not have any experience taking the course!”

Morgan Lovy

Testimonial from Daniel Berry,

“Morgan Lovy was a key member of our Social and Personality Development (CPSY 4331) teaching team for two semesters (Fall 2020 & 2021), and we couldn’t have asked for a more thoughtful, dependable, and conscientious collaborator! Morgan kept the trains running on time and provided thoughtful assistance to both myself and the nearly 200 undergraduate students she served. Numerous students mentioned explicitly their appreciation for Morgan’s timeliness and thoughtful suggestions on assignments, and I learned quickly to trust her judgment implicitly—this was a game-changer, especially during the 2020 transition to fully online learning. We couldn’t have pulled it off without her. We’re selfishly bummed that her impending graduation makes her unavailable to TA with us again next fall, but we’re super excited for her as she starts the next phase of her training in graduate school.”
