Kaitlin Kresbach

Kaitlin Kresbach is a current student in the undergraduate child psychology program in the Institute of Child Development (ICD). Below, Kresbach explains what led her to explore child development and pursue research.

What made you want to study child psychology or early childhood?

I decided I wanted to study child psychology after a study abroad trip to Kenya. I knew that I wanted to study and understand human development and figured the a Child Psychology major would be a perfect fit.

What kind of research are you involved in?

I am not involved in research currently but am very interested in Dr. Roisman’s Relationships Research Lab. I am very excited to begin my research journey this spring!

What do you find most interesting about child development?

I find that all of my classes in child psychology have broadened my worldview and understanding of the human psyche and development. There’s a much bigger picture to child psychology and I look forward to applying everything I’ve learned to the real world after graduation.

What are your plans for after graduation?

I will be applying to Law School next year and look forward to participating in and studying public interest law.

How would you describe your experience at ICD?

How would I describe my experience at ICD? From meeting with our academic advisor to attending Child Psychology Student Organization meetings, I can say that I have enjoyed every part of it.
