FSoS Susan Walker awarded travel grant to collaborate with the University of Iceland

IMG_0073 1Department of Family Social Science professor and Parent & Family Education director Susan Walker is visiting the School of Education at the University of Iceland to consult on the development of a graduate program in parenting education. She is also identifying collaborative opportunities for faculty and student exchange learning and research projects.

Walker is guest lecturing in classes during her visit and holding open meetings with interested faculty on parenting education and technology integration in work with families, and in post-secondary teaching and community-based programming. Her visit continues the collaborative interests between the University of Minnesota and the University of Iceland, which have been in place for more than 30 years, and is establishing new paths of collaboration between CEHD and UI.
Professor Walker was awarded an international travel grant from the Global Programs and Strategy Alliance to support her studies in Iceland.
