FSoS Janet Yeats featured therapist in WCCO and KMSP stories on hoarding

yeatsJWCCO News featured Department of Family Social Science graduate student Janet Yeats on a Good Question segment Tuesday evening.
The question, “Why do people become hoarders?” was in response to the 68 year old St. Paul resident who died Tuesday morning in a house fire. Firefighters were unable to reach the man in time due to the amount of belongings piled up throughout the house, in some cases from floor to ceiling.
Yeats chairs the Minnesota Hoarding Task Force, is cofounder of the Hoarding Project, and was featured on KMSP-TV’s story on hoarding that aired July 9. July 11 she’ll be speaking to city employees about “It Takes a Village: A Team Approach to Working with Hoarding Disorder.”
