Sarah Greising, PhD, assistant professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Skeletal Muscle Plasticity and Regeneration Laboratory (SMPRL), attended The Society for Muscle Biology’s Frontiers in Myogenesis Conference held November 15-19, 2021, in Costa Rica. The conference focused on “Skeletal Muscle: Development, Regeneration, and Disease.”

Greising presented a poster titled “Secondary denervation and volumetric muscle loss injury” at the conference. The presentation highlighted recent work from SMPRL lab members Jake Sorensen, PhD, and Dan Hoffman, as well as research collaborator Benjamin Corona, PhD, from Wake Forest University. Their research investigates a novel aspect of injury in combination with a regenerative pharmaceutical to promote the innervation of the muscle.
