Kendeou speaks at APA 2023 convention

Dr. Panayiota (Pani) Kendeou, Distinguished McKnight University Professor and Guy Bond Chair in Reading from the psychological foundations of education program in the Department of Educational Psychology, spoke at the American Psychological Association’s 2023 convention on August 3.

Dr. Kendeou participated in the APA’s Division 3 symposium, Reducing Reliance on Misinformation, where findings from psychology, education, and communication research on misinformation were presented by three speakers.

Dr. Kendeou’s talk was titled Education in the Age of Misinformation and Fake News. In it, she discussed current misconceptions and misinformation related to education and offered means to prevent and dispel them, as well as the importance of making decisions in education based on evidence.
