Masten research on homeless students cited in MinnPost

MastenA_2013Ann Masten, Regents Professor and Irving B. Harris Professor of Child Psychology at the Institute of Child Development, was quoted in a recent article in MinnPost on the academic difficulties affecting homeless and highly mobile K-12 students in Minnesota’s schools. Masten’s research has shown that students who are identified as homeless and highly mobile score significantly lower on national standardized tests than those who are low-income and who are not identified as homeless or highly mobile. The commentary article, Solving Minnesota’s homeless student crisis, appeared in the March 16 edition of MinnPost.
