Mitch McSweeney, PhD, assistant professor of Sport Management in the School of Kinesiology, was recently awarded the Journal of Sport for Development’s 2022 JSFD Early Career Scholar Award. The JSFD’s mission “is to advance, examine, and disseminate evidence and best practices for programs and interventions that use sport to promote development, health and/or peace.” McSweeney has been recognized for his significant contributions to the field in this early stretch of his career, including his many publications to various journals and his international work with sport for development organizations.. McSweeney has also received a number of other awards including a Sport Management Association of Australia and New Zealand “Best Conference Paper Award.” Read more about McSweeney’s selection for the award here.
