Kihl, PhD, associate professor of sport management in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Global Institute for Responsible Sport Organizations (GIRSO), was quoted in a Barron’s (AFP) article, “Sports corruption campaigner highlights match-fixing in football.” Kihl gave her remarks during her acceptance of a Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani Anti-corruption Excellence Award presented December 9, 2022, at the World Cup held in Doha. Kihl emphasized gambling as a root cause for corruption.
