Leila Riley, MPE, a PhD candidate in Sport Management in the School of Kinesiology, received the NASSM Doctoral Research Grant. Her winning research proposal entitled “Men Mentoring Women in Professional Sport: A Study Exploring the Relational and Gendered Aspects of Mentoring in Sport,” will explore mentoring as a gendered experience from both the perspectives of mentors and protégés in a professional sport environment. Results of this study are intended to support movement towards more equitable training and mentoring practices in sport and other male-dominated industries.
