SMPRL lab members attend and present at the NMJ Research Conference

Jake Sorensen, PhD, and Dan Hoffman

Members of the Skeletal Muscle Plasticity and Regeneration Laboratory (SMPRL), led by Sarah Greising, PhD, assistant professor in the School of Kinesiology, attended and presented research at the Virtual NMJ Research Conference for Early Career Researchers through The University of Edinburgh. This meeting was held virtually, October 5-7. The meeting was completely trainee organized and focused on early stage researchers, primarily graduate students and postdoctoral fellows conducting research on the Neuromuscular Junction (NMJ).

Postdoctoral fellow, Jake Sorensen, PhD, was selected to give a 15 minute presentation entitled, “Strategies to improve volumetric muscle loss outcomes using a targeted approach at the neuromuscular junction.” Kinesiology PhD student, Dan Hoffman was selected to give a 5 minute presentation entitled, “Temporal trophic signaling associated with neuromuscular junction dysregulation after traumatic skeletal muscle injury.” Both talks will be given on the opening day of the meeting, October 5th.
