Don Dengel, PhD, professor in the School of Kinesiology and director of the Laboratory of Integrative Human Physiology, is the author of a recent blog post entitled “Normative Data In Male Collegiate Ice Hockey Athletes Using DXA”. The blog examines body composition determined using dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) in 49 NCAA Division I male ice hockey athletes. The large number of athletes studied allowed the authors to examine data by position (i.e., goalie, forwards, and defensemen). In addition, the blog looks at seasonal changes in these athletes.
