Don Dengel, PhD, professor of kinesiology and director of the Laboratory of Integrative Human Physiology (LIHP) is the author of a recent blog post titled, “Normative Date In Female Collegiate Ice Hockey Athletes Using DXA.” The blog examines body composition determined using dual X-ray absorptiometry (DXA) in 34 NCAA Division I female ice hockey athletes. The large number of athletes in the study allowed the authors to examine data by position (i.e., goalie, forwards, and defensemen). In addition, the blog looks at seasonal changes in these athletes.
