LaVoi featured in Pioneer PBS short

Nicole M. LaVoi, PhD, director of the Tucker Center for Research on Girls & Women in Sport and senior lecturer in the School of Kinesiology, was recently featured in a Pioneer PBS short and accompanying article, both entitled, “ A female coaching dynasty: Celebrating the anniversary of Title IX.” In the article LaVoi discusses Tucker Center research on women coaching women’s sports, gender bias in coaching staff, and gender based coaching statistics. Also featured, was School of Kinesiology graduate and current Gopher assistant women’s basketball coach Kelly Roysland Curry. Curry is a third generation coach and is featured alongside her mother and pioneering grandmother.
